Was driving down the A56 in Manchester and drove past a stupid police officer with a stupid laser gun over his arm.
What's the deal with these? Can they record the picture off them and send them out - or do they have to pull you over there and then?
-
i think they have to pull you over could be wrong tho

If your going to fast they turn the laser on and blown your car up.
IIRC anyway.
-
dont point one at a harrier jump jet LOL
think they have to pull you over mate , just for measuring speed
there will have been a bike copper down the road as a chase vehicle
were you speeding ????
-
Of course I wasn't speeding, but I suspect the speedo might be around 10 mph out
It did have a wire coming out the back of it - wasn't sure what the deal was.
-
They just measure the closing speed with a chaser or 5 down the road.
-
as already said....laser speed guns just give a measure of speed at a .25 second interval , no picture. A second Police officer would need to pull you over down the road to charge you. If that didn't happen then don't worry.
2 police officers are needed to produce a conviction in court, one to corroborate the other, if no photographic evidence is produced.
Plus you could challenge the accuracy of the laser gun, based on the manufacturers built in tollerances + or - relating to the accuracy of the reading of vehicle speed.
Failing that you could go on a 'bezerker' styleee rampage with an Uzi 9mm and some petrol bombs and do us all a favour.

I was caught with a laser gun, was not stopped at the time but they still took me to court and threw a very heavy book at me.

S**t

And on the other hand I was zapped entering a village doing over 50 in my old 8v and nothing ever came of it. I wouldnt worry too much

Mine had a lot to do with me doing 94mph in a 60 limit, was young and stupid at the time, cost me me 6pts and £425 fine, that was over 10yrs ago.

Bonkers, he spent £1200 to prove it, good result however.

The case you mention was due to the police getting the wrong car and wasnt due to a inaccurate spped gun.
My father was caught like this, not stopped, no photos and when he asked for the picture that would be used as evidence he was told he could have a copy but it would be £7
