im sure if you look this up on google or the vzi site theres a link to how it was built and basiclly its a porsche gt3 chassis with a split body but the was loads of work gone into it from what i can remember widened the body and alsorts ill try to find the link

From the link posted earlier, it looks more like engine and running gear from the Porsche, on a later VW type2 pickup's chassic with the splitty body stretched over the top.
Amazing work.
