Title: knocking noise when braking

hi

have my Mot saturday and its my last chance today i get 2 test everything is ok..

but have a really loud knocking noise from front wheel when braking, any ideas what this could be?

check your brake caliper carrier bolts,     i somehow managed to snap one and it made loud bang when it thumped the wheel

just checked all the bolts and took pads out and put some more Copper grease on back of pads

but when i was putting the wire retaining spring back on it broke  :sad:e

does anyone know where i can get a new one, as i rung VW and they can only sell me the caliper complete

I would look on here, ebay and your local scrapper  :smiley:
