Hi,
I'm also in Middlesbrough area, have a Mk5 GTI and am looking to boost power output.

Considering a Superchips BlueFin at the moment as the map probably suits my requirements best, i.e. not overly aggressive, smooth power delivery, easily revesible and can be had for around £375.

I haven't heard of the company you mentioned but then again I'm new to the tuning scene, let me know how you get on.

Have you considered the BlueFin?

Duke.

Never heard of Bluefin? SUPER TUNING offer a ECU Re-map for £250 and say they can put my mk4 gti turbo from 150 to 192 bhp. Everything sounds good but Ive read stories on here about cowboys doing re-maps and doing poor quality jobs. Mind the SUPER TUNING website looks quality and has all the details you need  :undecided:

You're right the website does look slick and the price is competitive but have some reservations against using a company with limited reputation and some of cars in the testimonials do not inspire confidence.

BlueFin is a DIY upgrade from SuperChips, another alternative is the ST3 from ChippedUK.  Both have good and not so good reviews, depends where you look and what you believe!

hi again

160 miles from my adress,no worries just pmd the other guy thats in your area with the mk5 golf,if you were both to go ahead with the remap we could offer you both a good saving as you could split the fuel costs beetween you.
Basic remap =195 to 200 bhp
R-Tech spec 1 remap=210bhp+ uprated recirc valve.and air filter good option
R-Tech spec 2 remap=225+bhp sports or de-cat & exhaust system + better air flow, charge cooling & recirc valve needed.

all these 3 will be a nice constant power throughout the whole rev range, with no low down boost spikes.

I keep reading about once re-mapped you may need to re new the coil pack? Not sure what a coil pack is but are they expensive? Would it be easier just to fit new coil at same time as re-map?

hello mate

we can supply and fit the forge 007p recirc valve for £70.as far as coilpacks are concerned these tend to fail even in standard form.and if on there wayout a remap will finish them off.these can be had for around £30 each from the dealer (4 needed).
we have also found that a good panel filter in your standard airbox works well.

Watch out, K+N panels are oil based and can play havoc with your MAF!
