Title: No spark No Fuel Oil Light Flashing
Post by: wal18b2s on 22 February 2009, 14:57
Just starting this as a new thread as I have got much more info

Golf gti 2.0 8v AGG 97

1) No spark at plugs or coil(coil replaced) 10v to coil(battery bit flat now)
2) Resoldered Relay no.30 but cannot test until I find out how on autodata

Is oil light supposed to flash on ignition turn(not to turn over but just to set it live). Or is that indicating where the issue is?

Im looking at that the theory that the vehicle is immobilised now. Will have vagcom on it monday night

Ok guys this was Relay number 30 so before spending silly money out check this first!

Had a hunch it was so took it to work to be redone inside. Will buy a new one 2moz!

did you figure out if the oil light was supposed to flash?  my early golf with the diffrent dials flash when the ignition is on, the later ones just stay on constantly.  ?

yes oil light is supposed to flash, it tells you when oil pressure is low. funily enough when engine is off, there is no oil pressure ;)
Not sure about solidly on though, but I've not really played with late MK3s only early ones
oh and while im here, 30 relay is so cheap from VW silly not to replace it:
165 906 381   - ecu relay - 10.33
