Hi,
I have a problem with my Golf, it won't start. A friend of mine connected VAG-COM but it can't connect to the ECU (it connects to everything else). Does that mean it's knackered? It's had an R-Tech remap to 210 BHP back in September 2007. Could that be why VAG-COM can't connect?
I started getting lots of dash errors like 'Alternator Workshop' and the lights were flasjing at me and then it conked out. I realised after that the battery positive terminal was loose (bloody garage ), so tightened it up but now it won't start (just turns over).
Any ideas? Oh, the ECU code is 06A 906 032 AR if that helps and the engine code is ARZ. Thanks!!

Thanks for that. I've checked the fuses, they're all ok.
Don't suppose anyone has one of these ECU's for sale? or where I might be ableto find one?

are you getting a spark at all from the spark plugs / coil packs??
did you try another fuse just to be sure?

Will give that ago tonight.....fingers crossed!!!

worth a try for the sake of a fuse
with ivor's we got no spark, nothing -replaced the fuse and she roared into life!! took about 10 people 20 minutes to find the problem mind :lipsrsealed:

No need for the ECU, just found the cause. Where fuse 14 and 15 should be, there's just a melted hole. Fuse 10 was also melted and blown which was the cause for it not starting. I feel a bit stupid now, but I didn't realise any of the in-car fuses could make the car not run, I thought the important ones were under the bonnet by the battery.
Run's fine now but I have an airbag fault, checked the leads under the seats and they're connected. What's weird is the central locking and interior lights still work even though there is no fuse for 14 or 15
Anyway, sorry for wasting your time....should have really checked that out first :embarassed:. Will spend the money I was going to spend on an ECU on gettng the Airbag fault fixed. Thanks!!!
