Post by: gjroe78 on 21 February 2009, 22:37
Right so the wife gt-tdi goes in for a service next week and i know it needs new discs and pads so the question is...... Do i upgrade the discs(drilled & grooved) or just get standard vented ones
Seen these but not sure if its worth it ???

Drilled/grooved discs will do nothing but wear your pads more quickly.  Get some nice vented discs, and REALLY good pads :afro:

These should fit on your Golf.

Good price for an entire set.

I managed to get Mintex 312mm fronts (with pads) and 256mm rears (and pads) for about £100 from the seller I linked to, as I didn't have to pay for delivery :)

that's a good deal. I'm seriously thinking about ordering new discs and pads for 312mm brakes now, just n case they go up in price!

Yeah 312mm won't fit under the 15 inch rims IIRC.

Are they a lot better than the original ones because I've just had new ones fitted?
