Title: 'leccy window problem

5 door GTI....the problem is that the rear windows go up and down ok, but they dont go up on their own if you hold the button then release it like the front do. I thought it might be a safety feature for snotty little kids, but sisters CL windows go up and down like the fronts if you hold then release button....any answers please!! ??? ???

My '97 VR does the same. Auto down but manual up!!!

Its a safety feature tostop kids getting squashed if they are hanging out the window and press the window button by accident, and getting squished !!!

I thought that but why should a friends mk3 do it and it also says in the manual that they should go up automatically as well  ???
