Title: Engine revs

This is my first VW (Golf 1.8 Gti) so not sure if this is typical of them but;
The revs are very slow to return to normal (I.e. idle speed) when revving the car in anyway or just accelrating. Any clues anyone?

Check for vacuum leaks around the throttle body.
