will look good mate but you'll need some adapters to make them fit- luckily though the adapters will alos serve as spacers which will be good!  et52???

Will need slamming to get the 17's to look right IMO. Hope you ain't got many speed bumps around your way as the sump hang's low on mk4 golfs! Mine's pretty low at the front and it's a right pain at times!  :undecided:

What coilovers you going for?

didnt realised the sump is low on these. well iam goin to give the hot tunning coilovers a blast see how they go i have heard mixed reports on them but for the price its got to be worth a shot. but after wot u have said might have to look for some 18`s as there are a few speed bums around lol actully alot

Hi mate,

I've got the jamex coilovers which are basically the same units as the hottuning ones. The problem i have is the back is fully wound down but not as low as the front.

I'm considering taking the adjuster ring's out at the back to get another 10mm down. Only thing is if it's too low there is no adjustment inbetween.

Most people don;t want there car slammed to feck anyway so they suit most people's needs. I think i want the back down a tad lower though so i may try this.

There good value for money though, not sure if you could pull off the 17's look with then though..

Hi,

Yep front ARB had to be replaced with the whiteline bar which goesunder the driveshaft so no chafing now  did rub really bad to begin with!

Not sure how low I am to be honest. Pretty low at the front 50-60mm i reckon? Back is about 40-50mm

Because of the front valance i've got any lower and I hit the bumper driving over a rizla paper. Being the misses daily drive (with the little one in the back) i didn't want it un-practical so wound it up about 10mm a few weeks ago (piccy above is current ride height)

I'm also putting spacers on the back which make the car look lower too so will wait until there on to see how much clearance is lleft before taking adjuster rings out.

Other than that i get no rubbing at all unless I take a bump to quick and i get a slight scuff on the back somewhere...

HTH Sam

tbh, 17's or 18's won't make a difference to the ride height.  The overall rolling diameter will be about the same as you'll have lower profile tyres on the 18's.

The 17's will just LOOK smaller, so you'll need to lower it more to make it look right.  If you have speed bumps, try and sort 18's with a bit less of a drop..  And make sure you get 100x5 PCD
