Hi
I have a bit of rust on the lower section of a couple of doors.
What is a good product easily available to deal with killing it! And any recommendations on filler to you to smooth out the holes.
thanks
Jon

How bad is it? I have the same problem on one door but haven't rubbed it all down yet to see the extent of the damage.
Best thing to do is rub it all away / cut out all you can and repair.
I have used Kureust in the past and it seemed ok....

Kurust is very very good, kept my old escort on the road for years hahaha
-
yeah ive used kurust before as well, did a good job on the rust patch.

IF its on the door i would get it done by a body shop, sanded back and treated and sprayed.
If you mean on the door sill, get it into a bodyshop, and cut out and a new section welded in ASAP.

Check out this thread I did some time ago, http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=93525.0 while I appreciate that not everyone has a fully kitted out workshop at their disposal, you should be able to pick up some tips that should cross over to a bit of DIY, product selection etc, and apart from the sand blaster, only basic tools are required, and paintwork could easily be done with rattle cans
Its the first time Ive been back to that thread in quite a while... nearly a thousand views!!! how cool is that :lipsrsealed:
