Title: Highline Menu Access
Post by: VeeDubDan on 17 February 2009, 08:32
I picked up my new GTI last week which has factory fitted RNS510  and as a result also has the Highline trip computer.

But for the life of me I can't get into the menus to change settings etc!!!  The manual says something along the lines of, "turn on the ignition, a pictogram of a car is displayed and then press the button on the underside of the stalk once".

But no joy  When I turn on the ignition it says "Volkswagen something something" for a couple of seconds and then switches straight to the normal display.  The only way I can get the pictogram to display is to open the door!  What am I doing wrong?!!

No MFSW, just a standard one.

Well it's sorted!  I made the fatal mistake of believing what the manual said!!

The actual way into the menus despite what is written in the manual is to turn the ignition on and press and hold the rocker switch on the end of the stalk.  For reference this is an 2008 car.

Now I can play with the settings!
