Title: annoying oil buzzer
Post by: zoomgti on 15 February 2009, 18:12
On a Mk2 1.8 8v GTI as soon as we put the key in the buzzer starts even with out the engine running? any idea on what is going on as by our understanding senors should not be sending anything back till the engine is started. The car manual states that the buzzer should not go off unless the engine exceeds 2000 rpm. The buzzer continues to go off when started regardless of what the tacho is reading.

Managed to get it to shut up, took the dash out  everything seemed to be tight and in place and no damaged cables.  rebuilt it still had the stupid buzzing noise.  took it off the drive to park it else where  pressed the horn messing around, to make the other half jump and the buzzing has stopped took the car round the block and no noise and the flashing light stops  after 10 seconds of the engine running at ide.

no the bloody stereo has stopped working,  so will be back out to look at that,

Thank you for your ideas to help me sort this
