At 130k.. i'd run it as it comes for a month or two to iron out any problems that could just be made worse by the remap. If you're only getting the backbox there's no need to get it before the remap, it'll make no difference. With regards to the diverter valve.. see the sticky topic at the top of the mk4 board "Can I fit a dump valve" :afro:

run it for a month to see if you have any issues etc if your happy and the cars running ok then get yourself a forge 007 dv put on then you need to ring nick @r-tech and get your map done  and feel the difference :afro: then get a backbox fitted or like rhyso says all 3 at the same time

Hello Alex,

Welcome to the forum m8.

If I was you I would wait a few weeks before getting a remap carried out.  You want to make sure the car is up to scratch, give her a good service, good set of plugs good oil, good air filter, check all the vac pipe, clean the TB, check the DV or bin it and get an uprated version then get the car plugged in to vagcom and make sure all is ok.

When your ready for a remap just make sure you have a few quid spare to spend on the car just incase  the remap brings unknow faults to life.  Normaly £150ish will cover the worse, ie 4x coild packs and a MAF.

I was given a spanner whenI was 3 year old, my old man owns a garage so all my summer holidays where spent taking things apart...I could never put them back together lol. I have city & guilds 1 2 & 3 and 35 FCI Diplomas working in a Ford dealership..  We can do the service mobile but not the belt as we are limited by time, If your local you can book in and have the belt changed if you want.
