I've been fitting my Forge TIP today. Long story short, I've connected everything up, started the car, and I get the following. A series of beeps, then a constant ABS light on, and a flashing (!) light.
Anyone know what this is?

Also, what is this black box on the left with the pipes? It randomly starts clicking for a while, then stops.

The second one is your carbon canister I think and it normally clicks. Can't help with the first one though :s
-
you may have disturbed your wiring on abs unit its under the airbox

Cheers damo, that might be it then, I had a right pig of a job getting the airbox in, could easily of hit something.

everytime i work under the bonnet on my car i disconnect the battery 2 reasons the 1st is for safety(have seen what happens when a spanner gets dropped on a battery  ) and the other reason is it resets the ecu esp if working on engine etc, i cleaned my TB and MAF last night disconnected battery cleaned all bits left to dry refitted total time 1.5hrs took for drive now its like a new car also the engine management lights gone out
-
No I didn't disconnect the battery. I had a good look under the bonnet, and can't see anything disconnected :undecided:

mate id disconnect the battery now for an hour or so and see if the light goes out then take the car for a drive give the ecu abit of time to 'learn' and see what happens..............defo worth a try mate...........my engine management light came on thurs i disconnected the battery cleanedthe MAF and TB and refitted now alls good and lights gone out

as said just re-check your wiring/connectors under the abs unit etc as for your pic yep thats the charcol/carbon cannister for egr emissions etc it will make a clicking noise most of the time
-
Thanks guys!! I took the airbox out again today, and found a small connector that plugs into the side of the battery, kind of upside down, if you get me? It had come loose. Connected it up and all is good again!
New problem now though, which I will complain about in a new thread :P
-
what size jubilee did you guys use on the turbo inlet join? I've fuond it a right pig to get one to fit properly...
-
I got the fitting kit from DPM when I got the TIP.
-
Mine was already there from the SFS AUM TIP I took off. (Please see Classifieds :P).
As much as I like you Wazzer, there is NO WAY ON EARTH I'm taking it off to measure!!! :D :D
-
After I FINALLY got the bottom of the TIP to go onto the turbo, it was practically wedged on, no way I can ever see it coming off by accident :afro: So hard to tighten a jubilee clip, when you're lying on your back, with your hand wedged between the dog bone mount, and the gearbox!!
