You'll need slightly smaller tyres.

I've got 14" campaigns on my 16v

apart from you can't have 280 brakes

and you may have a slight difference on the speedo if the rolling radius is different

I loved my old 165/60/14 CEAT tyres/standard wheels, nigh on indestructible and once you get the hang of them, handle pretty good. Never thumped a lump out of them and (ahem) I used to drive fast up some very rough roads.
Got a set of BBS 16in on the now and needing to replace tyres, seriously considering dropping the car another 20-40mm and sticking the 14's on as I can either get 2 tyres for the 16s for price of 4 14s... Stupid obscure sizes.

In response to you're question, I wouldn't see too much difference. Hypotheticaly you're accelleration would be improved at the expense of top end but it'd be so insignificant it's hardly worth bothering about.

What's the 14s look like?

14s are where its at! love um on small bumper models!

Cant really comment on the handling aspect as im running on stretched rubber, ground clearance: the only small issue i have is the deep splitter which scrubs occasionaly.

Rolling radius on speedo will be out.

What wheels then?

Try entering in your tyre sizes on this page http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html (http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html) (scroll down, it's about 1/4 way down) to workout differences in rolling radius. Enter the original tyre size in the first box (185/60r14 etc).

I think i prefer the way a mk2 drives with a set of 14" wheels compared to 15" tbh

Get the same rolling circumference and tyre width and it makes no difference.  :nerd:
