For those of you going to the RR day on 28th March, post what you guess your BHP will be. Then after the day we can see how spot on we all were! :afro:
I'm going to go with 180bhp for my 1.8T
-
lol - anything i've said had anything to do with that guess
hmmmmmm
165bhp
285lbs ft torque
-
mine will be 0 at the min beat that!
-
hmmm, with my 190 map on I reckon around 188bhp and 293 lbf.ft

If we're going to go in .'s 188.7bhp 293.8 lbf.ft +

Come the RR I'll have my TIP fitted hopefully, and will have done my service, so some nice fresh oil, spark plugs, fuel filter etc. Give her the best possible chance :)
-
When and where is the rr day?
-
At R-tech-28th March (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=105057.0)
-
I've posted on there,i've requested a reserve list spot
-
mmmm i cant wait to find out  er il say 212bhp & lbs.ft?
-
i will say 190bhp and dnt know bout the torque lol
-
i am goin to say about 195 to 200bhp

should be bit more than that jonny
-
hmm we wil c. Should go bit better with the revised map in and downpipe and sports cat
-
Are we talking average bhp or pub talk figures?
-
Whatever the results from the RR show. I don't know how they're worked out.
-
Are we talking average bhp or pub talk figures?
average bhp :afro:
-
Are we talking average bhp or pub talk figures?
average bhp :afro:
Might have to do this k03s conversion if 212bhp is your average
I'll guess mine at 181bhp average
-
im going to guess at 190 bhp for mine
-
About 210ish!! Bloody goes well anyway.
-
214.9 bhp/242 lb/ft?? :undecided:
-
We are working with the new rolling road software, to get a true gauge of the transmission losses, We will do a run and get the wBHP and fly bhp. But like all rolling roads the fly bhp can be taken with a pinch of salt.
We played with a 130PD at the begining of the week on the dyno and tested wheel outputs, next week we are going to spend a few days getting the drag loss setup on the road.
@wheels r1 STD REMAPPED
peak bhp 101bhp 128bhp +27wbhp
avg bhp 72bhp 97bhp +25wbhp
peak torque 191lbft 263lbft +72 lbft
avg torque 142lbft 202lbft +60 lbft

Engine code?
-
My guess at average bhp has come down looking at those figure from R-Tech,maybe 120 average bhp.
-
I just want to know what my peak BHP is
-
thread cleaned up - lets stick to the topic in hand rather than willy waving
i'm going for 125bhp average
i'll unlock this if and when we can keep to the topic
-
agu engine - chipped uk map
-
My guess is average power of 130 ish
-
Thanks Rhys :)
-
I would say about 213bhp hopefully for mine
-
:undecided:
No fly.
Bhp anyones guess.. 103. :embarassed:
-
I'm uppin gmy guess to 185bhp based on the fast the TIP seems to have made the car come alive :)
-
MMmm tricky- well I had mine RR''d and after the origianal rtech remap, and got 179bhp. Then Nick came and revised the map (which felt better) then I put in the DSG intake and smooted the box- so I'm hoping its all made a difference- I'm going for 185bhp.
-
450 bhp
-
450 bhp
lol Wake up from your wet dream...
or have you won the lottery?
Nick
-
lol nick sort it out, how could you squeese it out a 1.8t
-
lol nick sort it out, how could you squeese it out a 1.8t
Yeah Nick, CC could do it
-
with great difficulty
-
No idea. Had it RR @ 193bhp last year? Hopefully i'll have stage 2? (ko3s, tip, filter, full exhaust) by then. I would be chuffed with 220bhp, happy with 210bhp and gutted with 193bhp
Sam

K03s, WILL be mine.. One day
-
K03s, WILL be mine.. One day
not managed to source one yet bob
-
Not looking, can't afford it :(
-
lol nick sort it out, how could you squeese it out a 1.8t
Depends how much i can squeeze out of ya pocket!! (you still got them tyres on ya car )
You will be happy with the Ko3s upgrade and remap like Ivor-mk4s AGU which is fast and smooth.
Most I have ever seen a stock AGU run is 202bhp. Most AGUs will make 190-195bhp on ron98+ its all down to how good the engine is. Stock AUMs will pull 205-210bhp all day long, TDI 150bhp =190bhp TDi 130bhp =165-170bhp.
-

Reckon I've a chance then? Only 30k on the clock, and it never skips a beat :)

hope so  sure mine will nick

So if you had an AUM with stage 2 and an AGU with stage 2 would they both be about the same or do the extra sensor's and DBW help squeeze a little more out of the AUM lump?
Bobbarley, i picked up my KO3s for £101.65 (£1.65 cash machine charge at the local esso ) so can be had for reasonable money if your patient. Seeing them go for £225 on Ebay makes me laugh!
-
Where'd you buy it from?
-
agu has a better ported head so should make more top end bhp with a k03s than an aum
-
Was on ebay but local. Phoned him up about an hour after it was listed and asked him how much for cash.. he said £100. Went round the following day expecting a bag 'o' sh!te but it looked good.
Just hope it is, but wouldn't be any differant unless you saw it running on the car you bought it off. (unlikely)

Reckon I've a chance then? Only 30k on the clock, and it never skips a beat :)
If it still feels the same as the day we remapped it at santa pod then you should see 190bhp+.
I have seen all my mk4 remaps make the quoted power, plus I have seen the same remaps make pants results. But I am soon on the case to find out where the power has gone to. Gricey AUM was the best one, I knew thought the remap would make 210bhp with ease but we could only get around 180bhp..only to find half the turbo was missing.

It feels even better than it did at Pod actually, since the air filter and TIP :)

If we get the transmission losses right I am sure your AUM will make closet to 220bhp.
Nick
Make sure you all fill up a few days prior with some good fuel.. If not the ecu will cut back the ignition and nick some of your power.
Nick

Nick would welcome a comment on my question a few post's up re: AUM vs AGU
Cheers in advance, Sam
-
Nick, can the RR do 0-60 times too?
-
Yes it can work out 0-60 0-100 60-100 and 1/4 mile drag times which should reflect near on actual road going results, but this all depends in the information we put in to the dyno laptop, weight (not hard to do) and front drag area of the car which is a pain to work out. (we even have a light tree like the one at santa pod..lol)
We have worked the front drag factor out on a WRX track car but not a mk4. I will have it worked out for the rolling road day. but I dont think we car drag start and dyno run every car on the day.

Obviously petrol car's will get priority seeing as they are performance derived. Diesels can drive around the estate for the day to see how many mile's they did to a tank of fuel, far more beneficial for there 'pub' talk .... :smug:

pah - pub talk figures will be about the torque produced

The AUM will make more power hands down, because the ecu if far more advance on the dbw engines, but if both where on stand alone or the both used the same ecu the AGU with the ko3s would get the best results back to back. Like Topher said the AGU has bigger ports to allow greater flow.

Cheers for the reply Nick. Don't suppose an ECU upgrade is a viable option though is it, woould be easier just to stick a big turbo or similar on?
Cheers, Sam

M3.8 to Me7.5 would be a huge task to carry out. If you have the money to spend the best option for the non bdw engine is the Omex ecu systems. Not cheap but well worth it.

I've never been on a RR either
-
I reckon I'll get 204BHP
-
will be my 4th rolling road
hoping for an improvement on the last one!

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm 240 for me. More if I get my carbino intake done before.
Isnt this exciting lol

strange really - whilst you're excited to see how your car performs there is a nagging doubt something will go BANG lol
