Title: cant get into 5th, gear linkage?

alright guys, finding it hard to get into 5th on my gti 8v, when it finally goes in it drives fine and doesnt pop out

thoughts?

jiggled teh linkage about lastnight and it seems to be going into 5th fine for now, the bars dont look broken, there is a fair bit of loose movement in it though, so the bushes may have gone?

Replace the bushes and you should be ok, they don't last long.

cool, got a kit coming asap, do the weighted shift rods make any real difference?

yes it did on mine

they are about 13 euros from the stealers but scrappy's charge about a fiver :)
