thanks jv
after being influenced by everyone at the prept meet i decided to get myself a silver 1.8 gti T, 51 plate with just under 59,000 miles on the clock, FSH, just had the cambelt, water pump and various other things done in the last service about 2 months ago, heated leathers, climate control. completly standard
really pleased with it, picked it up for £3500 which i thought wernt a bad price, its got a few minor scuffs and scratches and a kinda big chip in the bonnet but nothing to major that cant be sorted.
will post a few piccies when i get home from work

-
i havn't got a clue mate. i got them from ebay, they came in a DEPO box for 120 + delivery.
-
i've been a busy boy today!...
had my Rear beam bushes done. it cost me quite a bit because the whole rear subframe had to be taken out! also had the rear pads done...
recieved my H.I.D kit that i ordered but after reading many posts and threads about blinding people and beeing illegal i've opted out of fitting them, here they are fresh in the box...
Instead i ordered these philips power2night bulbs which are supposed to be 50% brighter than standard bulbs. i havn't had a chance to test that out yet becuase its still light outside
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/SDC11057.jpg)
got round to finally fitting the headlights, done it on my own and it wasn't tricy at all, the hardest bit was remembering how to take the grill out lol, i was told about 2 weeks ago!
here's the work...

1 hose
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/SDC11065.jpg)
2 hose
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/SDC11067.jpg)
this one going down to the intercooler was proper tricky! took ALOT of persuasion to go over the throttle body but with a little help from my dad we got there in the end
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/SDC11070.jpg)
it was dark by the time we finished that one but i couldnt find where the other 2 hoses go so left them for another day
-
ordered some black hella magic colour rear lights for £120. fitted them last night, the left side was well fiddly. one of the bolts is behind a panel and they give you 2 little cut outs to get to it...
try and get a socket in there with ease!
here they are fitted after a good wash (and then it rain'd )
also ordered a genuine black VW grill badge to match the headlights. really easy to fit
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/SDC11116.jpg)
i think the next job might be to sort out the ugly stone chips over the bonnet
-
sprayed my wood interior trim silver to match the car, i couldn't get the lacquer on properly but i think the way it came out looks good
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_1571.jpg)
just need to do the ashtray and get a Bora sport gear knob, also need to do the Driverside handle as i broke it

ordered my Milltek Cat back from Awesome but its out of stock, there currently waiting for stock from Milltek but hopefully should be here in the next couple of weeks...
-
the Cat-Back finally came today after about a 3-week wait. but it was worth it!
now all i need is the 4motion rear valance then i can get it fitted. also a milltek downpipe and sports-cat is on the list for when i get some spare cash moneys!!
-
right. instead of waiting to get paid to get the exhaust fitted i've borrowed some cash moneys from my parents to get the milltek down-pipe and sports cat and get them fitted at the same time. i ordered it today so it should hopefully be here before the weekend when ill be straight down the garage to get it all fitted!
-
done the N249 Bypass last night and fitted my V6 4Motion Rear valance. the Bypass took a good hour and a half because i kept getting confused lol. it definatly feels alot smoother and more responsive. the Dump from the induction is quieter but it sounds more forcefull
ill get some pics up later
-
N249 Bypass...
V6 4Motion Rear valance. cant wait for my milltek to be sitting in that hole! its quite hard to see it though
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_1879.jpg)

well over the weekend my clutch pedal broke! so i got stuck in one of the most sh*tty areas you could be in waiting for the RAC for 2 and a half hours. heres the broken pedal
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_2061.jpg)
new and old...
i got the new pedal from VW for 23 quid and then realised that there is also a clip missing/broken which holds the ball in place
-
fixed the clutch pedal finally. it was kinda akward to do getting the ball joint, clip and spring into place all at the same time and then get the bolt through...but its done!
i couldnt be botherd getting the rubber bit on so ill do it tomorow. also while i was down there i asked about a sharan badge. the bloke said he had one in his car i could have lol. so i accepted his offer (thanks guy and drift brige VW) lol. i've already started colour coding it...
rather than taking off the adhesive to get to the glue. i cut around them so i could try and use the original adhesive
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_2073.jpg)
-
well. my wireless router has packed up so i can't get any pics up of my progress at the minute. but, i've got my Full milltek fitted (downpipe/Sports cat, Cat-back) and when they lifted the car up on the ramps i found a rubber thing just sitting there in the middle of my rear spring.
so anyway i after that i took it to my local garage to get it looked at, the spring had actually snapped at the top which is why the rubber bit had come out, so i got 2 new (standard  ) rear springs fitted for £90.
also finished the sharan badge, colour match isn't perfect but its not extremly noticable. looks alot better aswell
AND!! i went through a pot-hole the other day which burst my tyre so im temporarily driving on a steel wheel. the tyre is only a few month old. it looks new so im not letting the council get away with this one lol
ill get some pics up a.s.a.p
-
well heres the pics as promised...
Downpipe that finally arrived after a LOONG wait!...
all fitted to the car
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_2148.jpg)
the colour match isn't all that great but it looks better than the standard one i think
-
I fitted some Black side repeaters (ebay specials) a couple of weeks ago. i fitted them but they kept getting condensation. so i took them off, air'd them out and then put some silicone around the edges to try and stop it. i've just fitted them back onto the car so hopefully i shouldn't get any more problems with them
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_2223.jpg)
Also my Forge TIP came from the group buy. thanks to damian and The_Stink for saving me £36 on it. i'm going go get it fitted at a garage along with the last 2 boost hoses that i didn't attempt to try  While im at it i might ask for the engine bay to be steam cleaned because the filth is letting it down alot. Heres the Tip...
-
Ordered some 16mm Megaflex to replace the Breather hose? on the induction kit. the standard one looks cheap i think...
-
Finally got my forge TIP fitted. TBH, i can't feel a difference. just a little smoother and the dump is quieter.
i know. its dirty lol
Also ordered/fitted an Audi TT Rearview mirror...
-
i decided to paint my grill over the weekend. as much as i thought it would look good...it didn't. i think it looks cheap...here's the progress anyway...
-
Right. i've changed my grill. to an all black one
Also bought the Newsouth boost guage from JWelsh. will get pics up of it once the pod comes and its all fitted...
-
well, done a few things.
Fitted my boost guage and wired it all up but, the the original tubing i was using melted :embarassed: so i've just got to wait for tuningwerkes to get some silicon tubing in until its fully running. i'll pick that up once my pressed plates are in, i got the UK font ones because i thought too many people are going for the german ones.
Also had a re-map from R-tech. (Big thanks to Ben) but now my clutch is slipping. so i've ordered a Sachs VR6 clutch and reserved a G60 fly-wheel at VW, just waiting for some bolts to come in which should be tomorow then get a few quotes for fitting
Will be updated with pics asap...
-
Heres the pics as promised...
i couldn't see the point of spending £70+ for a guage pod. so i bought the one in the pic for £30.
i went and picked up my G60 Fly-Wheel, Shorter bolts and bolts for the clutch pressure plate
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_2746.jpg)
Also my Sachs VR6 Clutch arrived
-
i purchased myself a bonnet bra
i really like the way it looks on the car. its a bit marmite but oh well
you can see my pressed plates on there aswell from Tuningwerkes
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_3331.jpg)
Next up might be black vinyl roof!
-
had my car serviced and M.O.T'd the other day at 67,100 Miles. got some bosch super 4's put on and it passed the M.O.T with no problems
but the engine management light was on and it threw up about 7 fault codes. the garage cleared them and then one came back. they cleared it again and now the engine management light has come back on. so it looks like i got an investigation on my hands. will keep you informed once i know the exact fault code

After going down to JKM and getting a Rolling road here's how things turned out...
Some of you may be able to tell on the last graph that the air fuel ratio is a wee bit fooked to say the least. so Nick from R-Tech asked me to take it to him to get sorted out... so i did
Me, BaV and Glenn went up there on the saturday before the Rolling road day with Briskoda to get all our cars sorted out
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/IMG_3436.jpg)
So. After a new Fuel pressure regulator, new fuel filter, new fuel pump and the PCV hoses replaced (and some bypassed, and already set-up for installation of a saiko-mitchi oil catch can) the AFR was running sweet. so Nick put on a Gen 4 Map and rolling roaded it again and got some positive results
-
A Mate has offered me brand new 40mm Koni Lowering springs for £40 (the're £90 new) so i'm gonna get them till i've got the uprated ARB's sorted and the Coilovers. but its a slow process because i'm saving for christmas and insurance renewal at the same time
-
Well the lowering springs never happend. Because when i got to my mates house i found out that the bloke had already sold them lol
SO! i've bought some front and rear R32 brakes  it comes complete with pads, disks, front braided hose, standard rear hose, Calipers and carriers...
Also fitted the Saikou-mitchi oil catch can (well, i aint gonna lie... Bav fitted it lol) so as soon as the brakes come i'll get some pics up of it all
-
The brakes are done
Had a little bit of hassle though, I helped BaV fit them with only minor problems. But, then we tried to bleed them with the ezbleed system...which, well, didnt really work
we was doing about 5mph and i slammed on the brakes and it took about 5 seconds to stop! so, the next day it was off to the garage. so i got quoted about £40 + v.a.t for bleeding which i accepted, and then got a call about hours later saying that the master cylinder has gone! so with a couple of calls to The Phirm, Tuning-werkes and BaV, i never went ahead with it. i sat around for about an hour and half different companies here there and everywhere and no one seemed to know what they was doing or just didnt have time to fit me in, and then i stumbled across a company called AD Autotechnik. They agreed to bleed the brakes straight away! so another £45 later and the brakes are all bled and i reccomend AD Autotechnik to anyone, quality guys...
Anyway, heres the brakes as i bought them
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/SDC13126.jpg)

After a bit of painting
(http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/se19kid/DSC00229.jpg)
The car is absolutley filthy so you wont be getting a picture off the finished work right now lol
-
Heres the Sakou-Mitchi (i never know if i'm spelling that right  ) Oil Catch Can...
Yes i know! the engine bay is still dirty
And the R32 Brakes, They need a little touch up on the paint after a long weekend grafting over them lol
Fronts:
Rears:
We had to bend the splash guard on the rears back as a temporary measure but that will get sorted in good time. I'd just like to say a big thanks to BaV for spending basically his whole weekend dedicated to helping me sort my brakes out. As i've told him before, He's a ledgend!
Next up will be suspension, when i next get paid i'm going to get the Front ARB (and rear if i can find one cheap enough. Wishbone bushes, Dog-Bone bushes, Top-mounts and bearings and i think i need a CV Joint or 2 and then the next month i'll be getting either AP Coilovers or Possibly FK's and some spacers for the rears at least
-
Quick update
I've ordered an Eibach Front ARB from Awesome-gti but they're out of stock (suprisingly). But i have also bought some second hand (2000 Miles Max) AP Coilovers. The rear shock is not there so i'm gonna use the standard one for now hence why i got them really cheap. and i've got Some audi TT Wishbone rear bushes and some Top-Mounts and Bearings.
And, i think the car has developed a failed wheel bearing. it sounds like one of the rears and is whining really loudly. So, when i have the coilies etc fitted i will get it (or them) replaced.

Going to get it fitted Friday! Cant wait because coilovers are getting done aswell
-
The coilovers, ARB, TT Wishbone rear bushes and new top-mounts are done!
Now, We have problems
This was discovered!
Not good! The car didnt have Anti-Freeze in it which was more than likely the culprit. I was going to get the head gasket changed but after a bit of advice from the garage i decided not to just in case the block is cracked. So i've been searching with the kind help of people on here for an AGU inparticular. Which i've now bought.
I'm going to put the VVT from my AUM in the AGU. i already have a Intake manifold coming with the engine and i'm going to be using the AUM injectors because i'm running AUM Management. i'm going to use an AUM Rocker cover which BaV has taken to the powder-coaters for me  you'll have to wait for the colour if you havn't guessed it lol. the only problem i might get is to do with the secondary air intake which i will need to try and get mapped out. other than this fingers crossed it all goes sweet!
Also, i should be getting a Neuspeed 28mm Rear ARB over the next week or so (once my car is back) so my next couple of updates should have quite a few piccies of the new engine, lower car etc...
-
About time i updated this!
The new engine is in. Basically. its an AGU engine with Intake manifold. Everything else is AUM (Throttle, Management, Injectors, Rocker cover + Coilpacks, Sump, VVT...) there's no SAI so i think that's one of the reasons its running a bit sloppy at times, also definatly needs a new map and needs a new thermostat. i changed the temp sender but that didn't cure the problem of my coolant temperature staying cold then normal then cold etc. Here's a pic of the new engine in...
i've had the rocker cover powder coated yellow (to match the brakes) and also the block and intake manifold have been painted black. Looks pretty good, i'll get a daytime picture...
Here's pics with the coilovers fitted

Here's the 28mm Neuspeed rear ARB...

It was actually nearly impossible to fit lol. the brackets were too small to fit all the way around the rear beam. so we took a couple bends out and trimmed down the bushes a little bit and managed to squeeze it around the rear beam. But! it does make quite a big difference, the car holds to the road so much better and on some corners there is practically no roll at all. a worthy investment!
I also bought some Lupo manual mirrors which i converted to electric. the paint on them is kinda terrible at the minute but when it gets a bit warmer i'm going to freshen them up in Matt black...

Done my thermostat and a new wheel bearing aswell. temperature is all sorted and i havn't got an annoying rumble from my rear wheel now lol. but to my suprise the kit was £100+!

i've gone and fitted an R32 Front bumper!

Had the notch on the bonnet smoothed aswell because it was already smooth on the bumper, got a LCR Splitter and Mattig Badgeless grill. Also had the mirrors painted satin black to match the satin black grill
i've ordered some Genuine R32 Lower bumper grills to go in aswell

Not much to report on really, still having problems with the engine! running like dog poo... looking for a new VVT unit or Cam chain tensioner as its more commonly called which i found out today. when it's plugged in it's putting the timing out!? so it's unplugged and it's not coming up with the timing fault but still running crap.
then i'm gonna put a resistor in where the secondary air intake was and then hopefully it runs alot better! heard from BaV that when he removed his SAI, his was running a little crappy aswell. if they both fail to sort it i'll get the turbo actuator looked at and then look for more boost leaks i suppose!
I've purchased some spacers though as they're cheap lol. i got some 20ml bolt-on Hubcentric for the rears and 10ml hubcentric for the front.
The rears have been fitted

i'm liking the rear a lot more now, when new tyres are due (very soon!) i'm gonna give them a little stretch and go lower. i need to get longer bolts for the front aswell...
lots more plans for the car. new rear badge as the crap colour coded sharan one was getting on my nerves. so i'm gonna get a new sharan badge and miiiight leave it standard colour. and i'm gonna change the rear lights as i want it looking a little more subtle!

cars lookin great mate, whered you order the spacers from/ how much?
-
I got the rears from e-bay and the fronts from Topher. I'll send you the link to the e-bay ones later
Cheers mate :)

Not a great deal to report on!
Got the Cam chain tensioner / VVT fitted which Jordy found for me  That's eliminated the timing problem. And we've put a resistor in where the Secondary Air Intake used to be. But i've still got boost problems
There's no faults now on normal running, when faults are cleared it boosts fine... Then... maximum charge pressure surpassed (overboosting) Still running crap after everything!
It narrowes it down to an electical fault because as soon as the code is cleared it runs fine. So the next thing to change is the Intercooler + Map Sensor. I'm only changing the IC because the bolts which hold the Map sensor in on mine is buggered lol.
new tyres are needed quite urgently aswell...

car's now for sale
