can someone tell where i can find these kits or post the web link? Not ebay ones plz.
the gear linkage bushes and the round black bit that causes unwanted movement in the gear stick?? wats it called??? ::)

Just did mine, I got the kit for the bottom of the gear stick from my local VW dealer! Cost ?12
Have a look in this forum there is a thread I started on the same thing, there is a link in there that someone kindly gave me, it's a step by step guide on how to fit!
You need two people and around 2-3 hours.
The pin on mine was a right git to get out, get some mole grips before you start to get the pin out if it is really stuck in!
The other kit I had a loacal mechanic fit for me, the kit replaced the lot by the gear box, and cost me ?100 fitted, the kit it self is around ?60 I think.

I bought a gear linkage repair kit off ebay for about ?7.50, good quality parts and all fits properly! Only thing it didn't include was the relay shaft ball, and instructions ;).

i got a relay shaft ball & bush kit, cost $25(?14) delivered to my door
worked wonders on the car!! gave it an extra 10bhp :P

What if I paint a go fasta red stripe down the side, would that help?
I'm going to treat myself to a full set of uprated metal shift rods from there one day!
