thinking of a respray and that this year, worth removing the sunroof and welding a plate? dont want to go ruining the car, guess id need new headlining  :cry:

If you're respraying it, won't you have the inside ripped out?  might as well weld in a plate if you don't want a sun roof. Personally I enjoy having one in summer  :cool:

And the fact a sunroof model is double skinned.

If you're getting it resprayed, fit a glass audi tilt and slide - that would be nice.

i like the idea of fitting a tinted, tilt and slide. that a straight fit/swop. only respraying it in the same colour so it looks fresh so i figured i wouldnt have to do the insides ect.

there are no glass ones that are a straight swap, only the scirocco/old square audi metal tilt/slide are a direct fit.  if you fancy a bit of metal work i have seen people weld in a different sunroof arpeture, iirc someone welded a mk3 roof hole into a mk2 on the vortex.

on this topic of sunroof seals mine has started to disappear into the roof on the drivers side! how the hell do u actually change the seal??

Yeah I bought a full sunroof with a mint seal as it was cheaper!!!
