I know there is another post already but can anyone tell me what to expect to pay for 2nd hand big bumpers for mk2 1986 gti.. also cost of fitting them as sounds to complicated for me.. thanks in advance
-
cost around 130 for the front one alone GPC do good deals and are genuine bumpers (cheap bumpers have grey texture). Fitting is easy.
-
?130 is a f**king rip off blue :D
try c and r in notts, they do new ones for ?60 quid im sure ;)
-
I thought you could get the whole kit for ?130 from GPC ???
-
GPC where asking around 125 for the front one so i rounded it off to 130. yeh its a rip off.
-
so 40 quid for front back ain't a bad price 2nd hand then.. there is a pair (front/back) in the paper.. havent got a clue how to fit them though. jacking up the engine and all that!!!!!! :o :o :o
-
there piss easy to fit, Go to GSF and get the Maxpower / Haynes VW golf book, it explains it all there.
Basically there 2 bolts under the front and rear bumpers, undoo them, pull out bumpers, put in new bumpers do it up, And your done.
Unless your like me who ripped everything else out to make way for a intercooler that will be appearing behind my bumpers very soon ;)
-
Fielder, are you gonna do an engine swop eventually. If so, what motor you going for? An intercooler will be a bit wasted on a CL!
-
a 1.8T or a 16V with a turbo conversion ;D
-
I'm still saving up, but I'm gonna get an AMD remap and a new milltek exhaust soon. AMD reckon remap alone will give me 15 more horses! 8). With some expensive air-intake mods I could be pushing 150bhp. :P All from a normally aspirated 1.8 20v.... Turbo lag, shmurbo lag.

Im selling a pair of big bumpers if your interested!
