They should plug straight in, the senders are the same all round on the mk2 (ithink) or take the senders form the car you got the gauges from and they should fit straight in to the old housing of the sensors/sender

you may have to get the oil filter mount off a gti but looka t it and see if you have a blaking plate or a sender in the two holes on top of the oil filter. send me pics if you can and i will look for you

The oil filter bracket on the Driver doesn't have a holes for the oild temp sensor, you'll need to find somewhere else to mount one.  I've heard that you can get a replacement sump nut and mount one there, but sounds like a bodge to me!

I'm going down the scrappers at the weekend to grab a filter housing and sender off a GTI, fits nicely on the 1.6!  If you manage to find a 16v they have 2 senders so you can do both pressure and temp!

this is on the 16v and the 8v, there are two senders one drives the oil temp on the mfa and the other is part of the low oil pressure warning system. so you can get the filter mount housing off the 8 or 16 v

you will need the audi twin pole sender to run the pressure gauge cos the golf one isnt strong enough. see my site for more info
