Ha, may have, not sure yet. As said though, for £100 can't go to far wrong. I will be robbing the red diesel for a few parts I would have thought, but still keeping that. This GTi will be a sleeper, and by that I mean the wife won't know I have it as it will be sleeping at work and in my garage! I may have plans for it but we will see. I am keen to have a crack at a home brew something and I am sure I can work out a transplant of somekind? :undecided: But we will see. Anyway, pics to follow, hopefully tomorrow!

she doesn't read the forum does she? As she might already know

Ok, deal done. He is bringing the car to work tomorrow so I can hide it away safe n sound. The good news, he is a old man and has owned the car for over 5 years. The bad news, poss heater matrix fail and a few dinx here and there on the bodywork, saying that what do you expect for a ton?
Hopefully or more likely definatley, pics tomorrow will follow. Did I mention its an 8v, still not as good as 16v but it will be loved I am sure!
-
Got it this morning and gave the cash over, did not even look at it until this afternoon!
Anyway, the new coach has arrived!

True..it looks more like a shed at the mo!
-
Its a battered shed tbh! You should see the stereo, it is totally original, the interior is in great condtion, runs and drives superb. Body work is ratty at the moment.
But still out runs and out handles a MK3. :lipsrsealed:
But on a serious note, I hope to make this a little gem.
-
I really want a mk2 project like this.....I just need a driveway or garage first!!
-
Ghetto. Very ghetto lol
You should keep it standard and restore it tbh
-
100 quid cars rule.
-
Ghetto is good, in fact project Ghetto has been launched!
I was looking for something but did not want to spend a fortune Boney, this just popped at at the right time. It is a pretty sound car apart from the odd dent and a small amount of rust. Still say it, try and find a 205 pug, R5 turbo, Astra GTE or XR3/i about for a project. They have all rusted away or put to a shell state and cost a load more than a ton to purchase.

Glad to hear it :D
And yes, Ghetto is good :P
-
It looks tatty and very scruffy, but from the photos, it looks straight. Nice find and a good base for a project. Any rust under the plastic?
-
NOt had a chance to look yet, but will be tearing it apart to see. Will be fun to do!
Will definatley get a good thread going for this, have a garage too so no problems there.
-
Nice score man. I paid £500 for mine, and although it's in better condition than that...not by far   haha nah jokes, but I've been having teething problems with it, hope it all comes together for ya
-
Hope you keep those wheel trims!

Well, I will be getting it stripped down and repair panels I will have a crack at that, can't be that different to a Bettle! Will spray it up, drop it a little, 16v rear lenses, leave front as is. leave the interior as is, tidy up the engine bay and have myself a clean little 8v! Oh, and did I mention put some sexy rims on!
-
shocks are fecked!

Was doing 40 on my way home and the rear end was snaking all over the place! Not fun when overtaking a lorry!
Got a setup costing just £50 so next week will be more fun!

Damn, you noticed then! lol
Took it to get looked at as it keeps going down slowly, the inner lip is buckled. I remember it was a f*cking pothole a few weeks back. Can't claim becasue it has been patched up now.
Luckily I have a few spare sebrings sitting in my garage needing a refurb.
