Title: IS IT POSIBLE BY ADJUST CAM TIMING TO INCREASE MK1GTI TOP SPEED?

Hi!My mk1 gti with 3A 2.0 engine,autotech 270cam my max rpm in 5th gear is 5800rpm,i am thinking if i adjust my cam timing with adjustable cam sprocket is it posible to rev up to 6000rpm in 5th gear?

Hi faigolfgti.
If the cam timing is optimised for your set up, altering it will make less power. I would recommend having the engine set up on a rolling road to make sure you are getting the most out of your engine. If the engine is at its best state of tune, you will need more power to make 6k rpm in 5th. (or a lower 5th ;))
