Title: heater squeel when turning left..
Post by: jamie_pyrite on 08 February 2009, 00:18
Hi all, just a quick question. On my 1990 1.6TX non-PAS Jetta, when I turn left with the fan on any setting 1 to 3, it squeels! Why's this and is it sorted? It's doing my head in!!

And why is it only doing it when turning left?

Cheers!

Bearings in fan buggred? Buy repalcement fan. Well cheap and easy to replace. Or try WD40 for a quick fix?

under the passinger side of the dash

there is a cover , pull it off and there is the motor

or if you remove the scuttle panel cover (under the bonnet)

and spray WD40 into it with the fan on 1 or 2

thats what i did to mine yesterday

Ditto! Mine sounds like a cat being strangled!!! How can I get the motor out? Got good access to it, undone a black screw knob fastener, but still won't release. Any ideas??? Oh. and done a search already btw!!

You have to twist the fan motor as its on a clip then it comes down
