Title: mk2 8v 90 spec
Post by: Alpine mike on 07 February 2009, 15:38
This is what ive noticed as of late....

the oil and temp warning light stays on even when the car is all locked and ignition is off, anyone know what this might be? And there seems to be quite alot of white "smoke" coming from the exhaust even after it has warmed up, im thinking it could be the head gasket or dodgy leads or something. I havnt owned the car for long but have started to asses the car as im getting it on the road asap. Another thing is ive just realized that the car has locking nuts... just bought a removal kit from halfords but to no aval..any ideas??

cheers.

mike.

Oil light staying on... First check the earths are sound.

White Smoke... When its freezing cold, mine still "steams" a bit even when warm. Completely normal.

Locking Wheel Nuts... Any decent tyre service centre should be able to get them off with their universal removal socket thingys.

might be a dodgy ignition switch?

as for the wheel nuts mine snapped off ( adapter ) i got some irwin bolt extractors (check ebay) hammerd the tightest fitting one over and undone simple.
