hi my mk2 16v golf is still playing up the starting problem seems to be getting worse charged the battery on sun used the car on weds/thurs now wont start again today starter just clicks? do u think it could be the battery even though its only a year old?

You need to get a voltmeter on it to check, or alternatively take it out and go to Halfords with someone and they can check it for free, although they will try to sell you a Halfords battery and they are £££.
The battery might not be knackered as such, just drained. At this time of year, you've got so much electrical stuff on, that the drive to and from work can sometimes not be enough to keep them fully charged.

are you able to check the fluid level in the battery? if batteries die, its normally this time of year when they do.

car batteries hate deep discharge and espectaly hate been left discharged.
in correct use a good battery will last 5-7 years know some cheep ones fail after 2. but i bet you chould kill one in a month ( just flatten it completly and leave )
