Title: Removing high level brakelight mk5
Post by: andytran on 06 February 2009, 19:53
Evening all!!

Anyone know how the high level brake light on the mk5 GTi is removed?

Mines got some condensation in it. Ive had a tentative prod around (all above board your honour) and cant get it to move, nor see any clips/lugs for prising it off.

Andy ideas?

Cheers

Andy

Common fault:

The spoiler needs to be removed from the back of the hatch. It is held on with adhesive. Then it needs to be reapplied.

Most people have a body shop do it. It is the only way to get to the 3rd brake light.

Cheers mate,

Thats a pain in the a*rse!!

Guess I will just live with it then, unless I can get it sorted under warranty once the car goes in for its first service!
