Title: What you need to know about getting new alloys???
Post by: saalro on 06 February 2009, 18:10
Okay so i'm curious, i was looking at getting 18's, am i right in thinking the right tyre wall size to get would be 40mm so that you do not loose the circumference of the wheel and mess up the speedo reading?

I was looking at some 18's and the site recommends 225 40 18 for this specific wheel, but then it also says that you can run 215 35 18, but how would that work, surely the width has got to be exact and not vary?

Thanks

I think the 215/35/18 is if you want a stretched tire look? I'm not sure though.

What is a stretched look, the Euro style look where tyre arches a bit?

Is there a certain percentage you can go over and below for the sidewalls untill the speedo becomes a problem?
