Im seriously tempted to get one of these mate! where did you get it from? and are you fitting it under the standard gti bumper? also do you have experience fitting these or are you just gunna make it up as you go along lol?

i knoiw these can be had for pretty resonable money now and i would get one but im not a fan of how its looks :sad:

i prefer a nice square symetrical one that has inlet and outlet on oposite side.

to be honest its bigger than i thought it would be.. i would get some pics of it out of the box but the intercooler is so nicely wrapped in bubble wrap that i dont want to ruin it :P

I like the inlet and outlet on opposites sides too jonny, it was really hard making a choice but in the end i went with forge

When you buy this kit from forge or another supplier does it come with another front crash bar that is pre cut so the intercooler fits behind it? and also does it come with all new pipes and lower grille vents or do you have to use original bits? Cheers

Did you move the bonnet catch? its probably just not in the rite place. Any pics? Im interested in what pipes you get with the kit because im not sure if you have to use any stock pipes?

You dont use any stock pipes, the pipes supplied are two silicone hoses, one is U shaped that goes from the top of intercooler to the throttle body and the other is L shaped that is attached to the lower section.
Sorry mate didnt get any pics as i was working alone, i only have one of the intercooler on the car

I too had this strange phenomena happen to me when I fitted my headlights. Tried to shut the bonnet afterwards and nothing! Try adjusting the bracket right up, I did and it catches fine now. I've got a felling it's to do with the cable moving out of it's normal position on the drivers inner wing as well

Yea that is strange why it wont shut then.  What colour are the hoses that comes with it?

Ordered mine today! i got them to put Forge in Blue on the front of mine  :smiley:  Cant wait to get it! Also go them to include the other DV relocating pipes that i need to move my DV

These can be had for £507 delivered at the moment.!!!!

Does it still use the pancake pipe in the drivers wheel arch though? Thought this was supposed to be restrictive?

VERY tempted to get the credit card out, but a lot of wedge to put on it (for me anyway)


Anyone able to compare this to any other cooler about, not the ebay type as i don't want to chop the bumper up too much (standard not r32)

Any other models to be looking at before i do it!?

I paid £450  :smiley:  And yea they do use the original Pancake pipe which is a shame. I will be looking into DIY upgrading this in the near future.

Can the black, plastic inserts of the normal GTi bumpers/valances AND the R32 bumper be fitted back in with the FMIC on??  I'm not a fan of the 'Let it all hang out' look, LOL!! :D

apparently an uprated one is in the pipeline

they've just done a TDI pancake pipe which i've ordered and will be fitting shortly  :smiley:

Yea going down the motorway it pulled better definately.  To get full efect you would need to have another updated remap taking into account the intake temperature changes.

And also yes the standard bumper inserts do go back in.  Forge supply a new middle and drivers side one as they are cut slightly all included in the kit
