hello all! I'm new to the whole vw scene. I'm looking to make a few changes to my car. It's an 89, mk2 gti 8v. got a few bits like dubsport downpipe, supersprint exhaust, gmax shocks and springs (lowered 60mm) badgeless front grill and ats cups. basically i need a few ideas. not really sure where to go with it at the moment so could I see a few pics of your mk2's with a shortlist of the main things you did to it please :D just a bit of a fish around for ideas really! heres mine:

What size alloys have you got at the mo, 14s?? I'm thinking of putting mine on a 60mm drop, as the 80mm drop is too low, I can't have anyone in the back without the tyres rubbing :-S so just wondering what it'd look like.

That's mine on an 80mm drop with 15s, nothing major done to it....yet

sell it an buy summat else

change it to original red stripe grill, put the proprer splitter on (not the mk3 item you have at the moment), nicer backbox / tailpipe, lower it more. wheels are your choice really!
looks like a good tidy car to start off with though.

I'd go along with all of that except for the lowering it anymore.
I would lay the rear wiper flat, then spend my time on keeping it shiney.

they're 15s at the moment, tempted by some form of bbs alloys though... They don't rub but I've never had anyone in the back as it's only got the 2 front seats in at the moment

I'm at home from uni for 2 weeks over easter so planning on sorting a few bits out for it then and having a good go at it. so far I've been considering coilovers, standard big bumpers set, wheel spacers (25mm back 15mm front), maybe a smaller (momo?) steering wheel, been told a 16v rising rate regulator would do increase the power a bit as well, may consider a different cam to put on it as well.
Then i come to the whole issue with interior. Might be sticking a new cd player in this weekend (the one in has got flames on the front and flashes at me  ) and planning on a new steering wheel then it's what to do about the seats. It's got buckets and harnesses in at the moment but they're blue and don't really match. Might swap them for either black cobra monacos (or similar) and put the rear bench and parcel shelf back in (possibly with 6x9s built in) or go plain black standard interior. decisions decisions!

I'm after a set of wheel spacers. Been told 25mm out back and 15mm on the front. Does this mean 25mm either side out back (i.e. overall width change of 50mm) or an overall change of 25mm (spacers of 12.5mm each side)
cheers
