Title: tappy engine on tick over

hi all first post for me so here goes, ive just bought a 2006 gti and the engine seems a little tappy or diesel sounding etc is this normal ? its not to bad just expected it to be silent with 30k on clock cheers, MATT

yes they all do that sir

the high pressure direct injectors (aka the FSI bit) are the main culprits iirc

yeah mine's the same only had it a week and paniced when i first notice it. but loads of post on here saying its normal  :grin:
