Title: Tool for DIY spraying?
Post by: Josho on 03 February 2009, 22:08
I want to get into spraying my car, and was wondering if anyone knows of a cheapish decent tool for the job? eBay or shops whatever.

Only DIY, not garage equipment.

Thanks!

Really though, you need a compressor and spray booth to do it properly I think. Normally, people who do homebrew spray jobs just use a spray can.

Decent DIY equipment can be had at a reasonable cost.  A big percentage of quality is down to preparation and cleanliness.

Might be worth checking out Practical Classic mag, see if you can find a product testing back issue so see what came out top.

Maybe something like this

The old fella uses a similar compressor-less device for his work, although not car panels the paint materials are the same and he swears by them.

I've seen show winning cars with DIY paint, done in garden sheds.  It can be done with time and patience.

Thanks for that. I was looking at those. Might save up for one...
