All sorts of problems, all the lights are dim (only getting 7 volts) front and rear, wipers are slow, fan heater is slow, dash is dim etc....the only 14 volts recorder is at the alternator and starter....I know most of the problems are bad earths, but I would like to run through the whole car and remove the retro fitted alarm and window motors......a nice big colour wiring diagram would help alot.......

the haynes should have all the diagrams you need, its post-90 most are missing/incomplete.  I can get you a complete pre-90 jetta diagram if you pm me your email address though.  only difference between jetta/golf is the lack of a rear wiper motor, oh and an early one like yours may have an extra washer bottle in the boot.
