I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've been constantly disappointed with some of their products considering they are supposed to be a decent enough brand.
I use the nxt generation tech wax and washing liquid. After I've cleaned and waxed it, the next wash there is absolutely no beading on the car, or very little. 2 washes later and no beading at all.
The waffle weave towel I bought was next to useless. It doesn't soak at all and I've boil washed it (no conditioner) several times to see if this helps. I've switched to cheaper microfibre towels and they work ten times better.
Using the glass cleaner last night was a pain, since the inside of the glass was cold the cleaner beaded up and smeared until I warmed the glass up with the heater.
The tyre dressing smells nice, but doesn't seem to last "weeks" as they put it. More like 7 days.
On the flip side, their older style lambswool mitt is good, and the clay kit works well. I've been pleased with those two.
Before you ask - I bought the valeting kit from them - I didn't keep buying the products! :)
As far as I can tell the Autoglym stuff is a lot better. The resin wax lasts longer, the glass cleaner and bumper dressing are superb, and I just got one of their applicator sponges which is worth its weight in gold.
I know both brands aren't top notch quality compared to other makes, but as far as high-street products go I'd buy Autoglym over Meguiars every time.

Get some Collinite wax that'll have you beading for months! But yeah Megs stuff does seem a bit disappointing there are better products out there for similar money.

I know the endurance of the wax will be reduced with use / washing so what's good in terms of washing liquid that'll not strip the wax?
I often see the triplewax stuff on offer and wonder about it - but got to use this meguiars stuff first ;)
Triplewax seems to cheap to me but I don't want to be paying mega money for something that's just a name rather than being any good. I wash my car once a week.

For good results you do need to buy from a specialist......and it's not as expensive as you think either. I used to sell autoglym and meguires and have opinions on both of them
I now have the following in my cleaning kit.......
meg's gold class shampoo
real leather chammy
meg's stage 1 paint cleaner
meg's clay
autoglym ultra deep shine
carplan paint sealer
collinite 716 (I think thats the number?)
autoglym glass cleaner
smooth peanut butter (best stuff for black plastics...but very messy to use!)
and I've tried all sorts of the years and this is my "best" list

Agreed - knew it was durable, but didn't know quite how durable it was till now.
Last detailed my car at end of October. Haven't touched it since then. Still beading now! That's three months, and one (thickish) layer. Ran out of daylight last time so never got the chance to apply more (I was buffing off the wax and had to use a torch!).

what do you wash your car with?
-
sponges

Do you mean Collinite 476s?
I think I might buy some and use it with the super resin polish. Looks good to me, from the reviews.
-
Wash - Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild
Clay - at the mo, meg's smooth surface clay kit (love the smell). most say sonus green clay
polish - G220 + menzerna's polishes (have yet to attempt this). SRP is very good and was rated as the best hand polish on the market.
Wax - Collinite 476s. It's a hard wax so I found it a little difficult to apply (more in getting used to using it)
Wheels - Meg's Hot Rims cleaner.
Tyres - at the mo turtlewax but I've just bought megs endurance gloss or something like that.
windows - start with autoglym fast glass to remove most of the crap and then autoglym glass polish for a smooth finish.
washing - I don't have a snowfoam lance or a pressure washer so I just soak the car with water, fill up the buckets and use the 2-bucket method to wash the car. I have a microfibre mitt for the body, a sheepwool mitt for the lower parts, and a chunky microfibre mitt for the wheels, arches and tyres. No sponge has ventured near my car!
