Title: Standard and Optional Equipment '92 8 valve
Post by: Quattro100 on 01 February 2009, 12:21
Hello all I am just getting to use this site and it is incredibly useful so well done to all involved.

I am trying to put the car back to standard and wondered if there was any place posted that would list the standard equipment and optional equipment.

For instance I have 5 spoke 15" VW alloys that I believe were an option but would like to confirm. Bee sting option I believe. Sorry no picture.

Interior: heated seats, electric rear windows, leather bound wheel.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Regards
Will

I've just been looking at late model GTI's on my hunt for my latest one.

The general spec on J reg 8 valves were, power steering, electric front windows, tinted rear lights, front door speakers ans 15" BBS RA's.

Some of the ones I saw had electric rears (5 door) headlight washers, electric mirrors and rear head rests. I can only assume that those were options.

Ive got a run out spec 8v

Standard it should have 15'' bbs ra, rainbow interior, 140mph speedo, a different horn push, electric front windows, 6 speaker stereo, half tint rear lights, wing mounted aerial, power steering

Would 5 spoke alloys be an option. I am not sure what they are called, but they have VW centre caps and I am sure that I have seen them on other Golfs. Will try to get picture.

6 speaker stereo, Definately standard eh?

what's different about the horn push?

Speakers, 2 in the dash. 2 in the front doors. 2 in the rear.
I currently have a car that I am constantly upgrading with OEM. Anything that comes up on ebay or similar that was fitted as an option by VW, I try and get hold of. Now looking for a recarro interior!

Its a bit difficult to describe but the normal horn push has diagonal lines on it, the runout horn is the same finish as the rest of the steering wheel, i will get a picture of mine at some point

I thought it was a horn logo rather than a vw logo, or vice versa

Does anyone know if the wiring is in for electric windows?

I've just bought a 90 Greg 16V (getting it tomorrow) with windy windows and would like to upgrade.

I think i've read a few time that if you have electric mirrors then the wiring is there for electric windows, or is it the other way around? :undecided:
