Just been talking with a few peeps and wondered if any of you Golf gods new what turbo is in my car and if its any good/bad, can cope with xxxBhp and any other info you may have, like any problems!
Ive been told by a its a K02 by b K03-052 and by a number of c's K03sport ??? ??? ??? How da hell do I find out!!
My cars 02 1.8T DBW AUM
I've also been told its vvt, I think thats true.
Shine some light pleeeeeas peeps :D

It's a K03 Sport.. Borg Warner (the turbo manufacturer) seem to deny all knowledge of it.. it's basically K04 internals in a K03 housing making it stronger.. thus holding boost higher in the revs.
With a 4 bar reg and suitable mapping they're good for 240bhp.
Anymore than that and you'll want something like an IHI ceramic roller bearing jobby.

Ok
Was just having a look on UKMKIVS (i like browsing, and saw the thread on turbos) but what the hell is this all about??
'I have now tried the opening the door and switching on the ignition and the engine is running far better!!!!!! What is this all about??????? '
Whats the door got to do with ignition timing??
-
They're talking about aligning the throttle body.
You can either disconnect the battery, or.. (try to stay with me on this one)
1) ignition on (not running)
2) drivers door open
3) bonnet up
Leave it like that for five minutes et voila !
Chris.

are you serious :o
Is this some kind of trick?? why, how does the 'door' align the throttle body??

Beats me mate, but apparently it works... I assume it's something VW did on purpose. If not, I'd like to know which saddo with too much time on their hands found that out ;D
