Title: I need your opinion
Post by: The Trickster on 27 January 2009, 17:28
I'm just going to send the Pirelli P slots to be properly refurbed. No one I've spoken to can paint the slots black, so, I'm going to lightly sand them so the black paint will stick. The question is, should I spray the slots matt or gloss? (Or matt with lacquer) I've managed to flake off some of the silver put on during a poor refurb and the original black looks in between!
Your thoughts are very welcome

The slots should be painted satin black, to match the tyre, centre caps should be painted at the same time as the wheel, so they don't appear to be "off colour"   Paint the Ps black first, mask them out, then paint the wheel silver, this way round is much easier to mask...

The bloke who is doing the refurb can't mask anything. I'm wondering if I should get him to dip, blast and prime the wheels, then I can finish them myself. (What spray do you recommend?). I can then lacquer the whole lot, including the Pirelli decals I've got for the centre caps.
