Hi can someone please help me???
I just bought a golf 2.0 gti mk3 (i think) r- reg.
I'm propa in love with it but it keeps cutting out on me usually whilst slowing down, sometimes it wil let me bump it back in but usually have to completely switch off and start again?? Which is doin my F**KING bont in!!
Occasionally the oil light starts to flash it doesn't stay on just seems to bip on an off?? and this causes the car to die also?? usually at speed??
What does all this mean as i'm bein told off the person i got the car from that it "never did it 4 him".....arghhhhh
-
low oil level? that might be why the light is coming on!

Now if you've gone thorugh the thread....you'll see there can be several causes!! but first things to do is clean the throttle body (carb cleaner and a tooth brush), check and change the fuel and ecu relay's and then try vag-com if the other 2 don't solve the issues

I had sme prob but mine would refuse to start afta 5-15mins after the throttle body cleaned still had same prob changed the fuel relay still sme prob it started to gert worse after 10mins of crawlin the car would cut out found out that it wher a POWER RELAY. take it 2 a vdub specialist gna charge u abit but should solve ur prob. hope that helps
check power repay it could get warm n heatin causes the car 2 clonk out

power relay = ecu relay cost £11-13 from the dealer (you can check them by feeling the temp after 10 minutes of driving...if its cold = broke... if its red hot = broke... (it should be warm to touch! and same with the fuel relay)

had the same problem with mine, i serviced it put new plugs, leads etc
worked o.k after no prob, the mk3 8v give probs with oil pressure sensor i would try that
