Now all I need to do is clean, polish and wax the car and fit the parts, whilst doing 12hr shifts and before the weekend

Well the badges would have been here on Friday, but I wasn't in and so had to collect them this morning from the post office
The rear spoiler was ordered back in November and so a month and a half to have it made in China to order and shipped over isn't too bad really
-
Looks like the back fixing points of the rear CF badge are different to the one currently on the car, which means I'll also have to remove the original badge housing as well. Also gonna paint the badge backing in silver.
This probably won't all get done before the weekend thinking about it

Hurdy.... You need help
In fact you would get along well with the medical guy who is building a Porsche GT3 custom car...
He brought it brand new. And gave it to the Porsche Team here in Cape Town. They showed it to me a few days ago... The rear spoiler costs 13 000 pounds...
Nevermind the doors, roof, bonnet, fenders and rims... Oh and turbo upgrades along with respray...
Sounds a bit like you maybe? :lipsrsealed:
Will post pics once I get permission from the owner

Mine was a little more as I bought a new rear boot latch as well. Going to be painted before putting on the car

How long until you've spent more on CF parts than on getting the car?
Loving the spoiler though. Looking forward to seeing it attached

Hurdy do you have the carbon surround for the dash. Im keen on treating the interior as i usually spend loads on the outside - which i dont see. I want to get the rns510 and some carbon for the interior. Im going to talk to my uncle about a few one off parts as well (he has a company that builds carbon fibre super yachts; 50 meters + so lots of spare carbon)
Want to see how it looks and if its worth it and are they full carbon or carbon covered items?
Cheers mate.

from china, so no doubt built by 4 year olds that have never seen daylight in their lives!.
John you need help!!!!, Thats a worrying fetish you have !!!
or an expensive bed bolster for saturday night! :lipsrsealed:

I don't have a surround for the dash, but I do have the C frame surround and DSG gearstick surround. They are CF, but the gearbox surround simply covers the existing surround as do the dash ones.

I hate you Hurdy!!
You have exactly the colour and the car Im looking for!! Im finding it difficult finding a ED30 in silver!
I keep checking back in this thread - when you fitting the CF spoiler??!!!!!! lol ;)
The first thing I'd probably do with mine, when I find it!, is get the alloys changed to the 18" Monza's though - I prefer them ones over the ED30 alloys. Im unsure of the value of them though - do you think it would be feasible to do a straight swap with someone, or would there be a part exchange on one side?
Anyways, heres waiting fo rthe CF spoiler to see how it looks!
-
17s give a better ride. Want to swap with me :D !?
-
You're not too far from me either ;)
Once I have my ride I may consider your offer..... ;)
Apologies for de-railing the thread though!

This fits over the original. Didn't want to rip off the original one and OSIR one did a cover. Weighs 500 grammes, so I thought why not. and it finishes the back end off nicely.
-
I think that looks awesome - and the fact that it fits over the stock one is a great idea!
What did you use to stick it on??
Also, slightly off topic, but whats the width of your garage??
My garage looks around the same size I think, and I want to make sure I can get the GTI in/out easily, and be able to open the car door enough to get in/out!!
Just had my electric sectional garage door fit as well ;)
-
Looks awesome
-
Hey Hurdy, could we get some pics of the rear when out of the garage??
Some that are not so close up to the spoiler itself, but of the entire rear of the car??
-
Looks CLASS wish I had the CASH!

PU glue - it stays slightly rubberised and as such is less inclined to damage paintwork if you ever want to remove it.
The width of the garage is 8' 6" with the posts of the door being slightly narrower. Easy peasy to get the car in, but I always have to put the passenger side close to the wall so I can exit easily from the drivers side.

I'll be taking some more shots soon, but want to get the badges sorted first.
