Title: Hi all, another newbie

Hi all

A little bit of history on my VAG ownership. Started many moons ago with a 1985 Scirocco GTX that my uncle gave me. It needed too much work in the end so it made way for...................a 1981 MK1 Golf GTi 1.6.

That too needed work (new radiator, brakes, complete engine rebuild) but due to losing the garage space it had to go (gutted is an understatement) before it was finished.

Had a few months with a Leon Cupra R when I met the missus, and a few years later a Mk3 Golf CL. Which kind of fell apart on a daily basis and in the end went to the great VW garage in the sky lol

That was a year ago and I'm now hunting for a decent Mk1 or MK2 GTi again. Hopefully wont take too long.......will it?!

Yeah, i was lucky on the one I had (well semi lucky, body work was perfect just the mechanicals let it down). Just hope i can find one local enough really

Found out today roughly where my mk1 went to, just a case of seeing if its still there now.

If thats a no go its back to the hunt, though will now add a Corrado to the list lol

I hate looking for cars, I always start out with the exact 2-3 I want then it snowballs when I get tempted by others.

Can now add a 16v MK3 to the list of wanted :grin:
