64604FG BRAKE PAD SET-RE EBC GREE G3 +ABS 32.50
Its a 1997 mk3 GTI 8v. There are 2 different green stuff rear sets on GSF site. Both state they are for ABS though. Cant see what the difference is. As 8v 16v and vr6 all have the same rear dics???

Also been looking at braided hoses and there are 2 kits for 8v/16v. A 4 line, and 6 line kit. How do i know what i have?
:S confused

GSF website can be a bit confusing I have found. See ebc website for the brake pads, only a couple of quid more expensive and you'll get the right ones.

To be honest green stuff pads on the rear is overkill, you'll do just as well with oem type pads on the rear and about a third of the cost, the rears really do very little work unless you travel fully loaded up or with two rear passengers all the time, but then standard pads should still be fine.
Braided lines I was told were 4 lines for cars with rear drum brakes and 6 lines for rear disc brakes. I bought mine from volks bitz and they were very helpful and knowledgeable about which kit was required and were cheaper than anywhere else.

The bottom set is your pads...and you'll have a 4 line set up (mines 6 due to its year!)

Cheers, I know that the rears are do less braking, hence buying standard discs but i have brembos and green stuff up front, and find that the green stuff pads dont leave much dust, so thought it be nice to have that at the rear.
I will check out volksbits for the pipes. Only wanted GSF as its near by, and the local eurocarparts are so f**king stupid a monkey could do better. Plus i need to buy bearing and discs at the same time.
Cheers
