Afternoon chaps!
Apart from Ash, has anyone else tried doing this yet? I'm considering it, think it'll make the inside look a lot more "trick" Seriously though, I reckon it'd look nice. I seem to remember Ash buying a load of dye. I read that it's best to use some sort of sprayer to do the lining.
-
look at ash's project bob, iam sure he did this to his golf.
-
Yeah I was looking at it again last night. Thing is I don't recall him saying how he got the dye onto the headlining. I'm just a bit worried that you only get one opportunity to get it right, and I want it to work, look great, and have no streaking at all.
-
pretty sure he spray painted it on :undecided:

what you need bob is dylon. its permanat, and dosnt streak. once applied you need to rinse and then let it dry out. spray piant i wouldnt use mate, it would clog the fabric and the felt like stuff would stick and feel rigid after it dried.
Dylon, best bet mate

yes he did page 3 on his thread, think ash is breaking his bob perhaps drop him a pm see if he wants to sell it?
-
he may of painted it, but dylon would be better, as it would still feel like fabric and not rigid. unless he used a spray on fabric dye of some kind. you could always email ash and ask what he used bob!
-
also you'll need to do the rest of the bits like the door seals, pillars etc
it does look good but is a lot of time and effort IMO
if yours was a 3 door Bob i'd say go for it as you could get the bits of a scrapped Anni but being a 5 door you're going to have to dye everything

he did use dye but he used a compressor and spray gun attachment to spray the dye on

prep prep prep !!!!!!!!!ask any bodyshop!! tape everything up carefully dont rush and allow x number of days +1 xtra also have enough room to do it properly ie garage and just take ur time................if u cant do even 1 of those things DONT EVEN ATTEMPT IT as it'll look sh**.

im not sure where you get it, but, you can buy fabric spray paint. I recon this would be easire than using dylon and you would still get the feel of the fabric unlike using regular spray paint.
