connected up the washer bottle cable, and wen u pull the stalk towards u for front wash nothing happens! but if u push it away the ie rear wipe/wash setting it sprays the front screen!? is the pipe the wrong way round im guessing!?

but why doesnt the front wash work is this the stalks??

stuart

p.s. still cant find the fan cable anywere

The pipe isn't the wrong way round - your wiring is.

All the switch does is reverse the polarity to the motor, spins one way, windscreen, spins the other way, rear screen.

Get a multimeter on the wiring and check the voltage when you flick the stalk.

Then connect a +ve and -ve wire to the terminals manually, see if it works, then reverse them and see if it works. Could be a dodgy stalk, wiring or motor.

what year is it, the early models have the rear washer on a seperate bottle & pump in the boot.

found the problem, the pump was f**ked! someone had blocked the front outlet and rerouted the front pipe to the rear outlet! hence why pull the stalk forward did nothing and pushing it back sprayed the front screen! but surely the front wiper shud move wen u pull forward on the stalk?

p.s. the pump had a screw wound into the front outlet!!

rear wiper doesn't need to work for MoT. Mine did the same, but it wasa the rear that didn't work. A bit of WD40 and away it went!
