yeah i was really surprised at just how much the old seat base had broken up!!
there are metal bars underneath the side supports so i guess years of getting in an out of the car causes the foam to rub against the metal before finally breaking down
for anyone with Recaro's interested the part number is
1JO 881 375 P and retail is £53.54 but i got 10% so it cost me £48.19 - not cheap but well worth it if your base has seen better days

-
I'm lucky that the foam of my seats still feels to be in great condition, I just need to replace my heating element!!

Nice effort mate, definitely something on my to do list. It's the same old story with Recaro's unfortunately, same thing happened to my Escort seats

G work, Rhys. 8)
Might have to look into one for mine, as I think there's something jabbing my left thigh, LOL!! :D
-
Top work, didn't realise it could be done tbh! My RH upright bolster doesn't hug as much as the left, so I bet that needs some of the same.

Looks good Rhyso, my old TDI seats were worn very badly!
Have you not considers a fabric repair from a upholstery repair specialist, it woudl cost you less than £25 to get that small section repaired:

i have mate - the mobile ones say its only for cigarette burns etc and can't gurantee how long the repair will last whilst those based in a shop say they can't match the fabric :undecided:
ruddy annoying really
