got a GTi servo and master cylinder from a scrappy's
will it fit ??
how hard is to fit ??
please tell me it's not a dash out job

gti servo will fit but you might have to fit a rear brake compensator! this is the only real difference between 1.3/1.6 and 1.8 models, and 1.8s all got a compensator.
edit: not a dash out job, take the lower dash trim off and undo the 4 nuts behind the brake pedal, and the clip holding the pedal to the servo. Then go back to engine bay and undo 2 nuts holding master cylinder on, carefully pull it forward. Brake servo can then be removed & swapped, without cracking loose the master cylinder pipes and therefore without bleedign the brakes. I managed it on a RHD GTI so you should have no trouble

This would actually be quite a nice job compared to a RHD car!

thought all 1.8s have rear discs though ???
hense the compensator :undecided: :undecided:

1.8 carby models have rear drums. they have the 9" servo and so need the compensator, whereas 1.3 and 1.6 models have a smaller 7" servo, and dont. At least here in the UK, europe could be different i guess ;)
edit: actually the reason may be down to the wheel cylinders in the drums, AVS recons models with the compensator had bigger ones :)
