Title: Paint help?

ive bought some mk4 anniversary rims and i wanna strip them down and paint them anthracite, should i just use nitromors or somekind of spray paint stripper or should i use abrasives? also does anyone know if halfords stock antracite grey/black

Have you rung around a few powder coaters??  One round my neck, charges £25 p/w for a:-

1)  Shot-blasting
2)  Re-painting
3)  Re-lacquer

i wouldn't even attempt to do them myself, pay someone and get the job done properly!

If you can get someone to do them for £25-00 per wheel as mentioned above, then why would you want to waste time and elbow grease on doing them yourself?

Nitromors is horrible stuff and it doesn't just miraculously remove the old finish, it still takes ages with the old wire wool (which is also horrible stuff).

You'll also have to shell out a fair bit on Nitromors, wire wool, primer, sand paper, paint, laquer etc - all for a finish that wont be as good as a professional job.

Cheaper is not always better!
