Hi,

My name is Samantha this site is full of loads of info!!! its reallt great, I haven't had a chance to look deeper yet!

I picked up my MK3 GTI last night, and its quite a nice car actually!! I never really thought I'd own a Golf, they were never in my list of cars to own!! But I needed a run around and this came up!! I think I have the 8 valve, but to be honest I haven't even checked! :-( its a 3 door and in black, quite clean, alot softer ride than I was expecting from it!!

There are a few things that I hope someone may be able to answer, they are nothing major, but I read in one of the stickies that the immobiliser was fitted 94 on and airbags were also fitted 94 on, mine is a K which I beleive is a 92 (?) well, I have an immobiliser (that doesn't work) but no airbag. would the immobilser not work as I have an alarm on it? the alarm is not anything fancy just an old one.

Also its hard to get into 1st gear, I have to put it in 2nd then 1st a little annoying but I could get used to it. is this common?

I'll try to get some pics up, I haven't taken any yet, will have to wait for the weather to clear up!

I'm going to go have a look at pics of your cars now!

Have a look under the bonnet and you will soon see if its an 8v.

Get yourself over to the Mk 3 Section and ask all you want.

and in responce to the questions..the 92 model didn't have a factory immobiliser or airbag! and even an alarm was an option

Oh and yes to the gear problem! Mine is a 97 and I get that sometimes! And yes thats the way to deal with it! (2nd then 1st)
