no, electric windows is an "add-on" loom, with an extra relay on the fuse box

as far a central locking, most of the actuation is done by air/vacuum - the only wire is one from the drivers door, to the pump in the boot - the base models dont have any wires to the doors.

So how would I go about getting a loom for electric windows??

Find a donor car in a scrapyard and take everything you need. Start from the doors, and chase the cables back to their source. Should be plug in and play, although you may need the relays as mentioned before. A dormant plug will be in your car somewhere. VW would not make one loom for one model, another loom for another mode etc. They all use the same loom, but have different 'add on' looms to fit to the base loom.

as said leccy windows, mirrors and central locking looms are completly missing from cars without them, I've had base spec pre & post 90 MK2s and non of the loom is there.
For central locking I wouldnt bother with the vacuum system, its fiddly to fit and will end up costing you a bit, just get a universal electric remote central locking kit, less than £30 and brand new rather than near 20 year old!  Easy to fit as well.
For electric windows I dont settle for anything less than the corrado 1 touch system now I know they work on MK2s

I've already got central locking, that's kool to know about the vacuum system, I wondered why it was taking a while for my passenger door to open (only a few secs, but still )

By one touch, do you mean like you press it half down and the window'll stop when you let go, and you press it all the way in and it goes all the way down??

if you hold the switch for about half a second the driver & passenger window will wind fully open, the driver side also will wind itself fully shut.  You can tap the button at any point and it will stop :)

go for the early spec stuff, as the later switches are designed to fit in the rado door pockets so are harder to fit to a MK2.  Early ones you just chop a hole in the doorcard and they clip right in!  Passats malso have thje same setup, if you're lucky you can get a 4 door version, but this is quite rare to find especially with the early switches.  The ones you want look like this:

Awesome, thanx. Will it go on the center console, where the switch blanks are??

no not directly, switches are a different shape.  however, if you look out for later SEAT models they have MK2 shape switches that plug into the corrado loom :)

A mod I want to do also. Jonny, does this still use the golf electric mechanism or do you have to modify a corrado one ?

I do like the oldskoolness of the mk2 (well, love it!!) but I do like having the luxury of electric windows etc. I fitted 'em on my Fiesta, and am gonna damn well do it on my Golf too

you need to use your old window regulators, the corrado ones do not fit :)
